As the Sun changes signs and the Moon is renewed, eclipse season is officially behind us.

The relentless intensity of the Leo-Aquarius eclipse axis — which spent the last month exposing shadows, scrutinizing power, and shaking our global foundations — has finally released its grip.

We are now drifting into the deep, mystical waters of sidereal Pisces for this next lunar cycle.

In Vedic astrology, Pisces is the twelfth and final sign of the zodiac. Pisces energy is highly intuitive, emotional, and imaginative, existing in the liminal space between what has passed and the new phase of life that lies ahead.

After the jarring awakenings and systemic breakdowns revealed by the recent eclipses, this New Moon offers a moment to process, feel, and gently close the door on the old world while indulging in some dreams about what might come next.

A New Moon is the darkest phase of the lunar cycle. During this time, the Moon (representing our mind and emotional conditioning) merges with the Sun (our soul and core vitality), allowing the noisy, differentiating thought processes of the ego to fade.

It is a time to tap into “core consciousness,” where differences dissolve and a sense of unity prevails. Because Pisces naturally rules this oceanic dissolution of boundaries, the veil between the individual self and the collective web of beings is exceptionally thin right now.

Adding to this watery, unifying energy is the presence of Venus, which is currently exalted in Pisces. As we navigated during the turbulence of the eclipses, this beautiful transit reminds us that our relationships and our care for one another are our greatest currency.

Venus in Pisces offers a Divine love meant to transmute our creative energy and foster deep, almost psychic empathy for our fellow humans. Now is the time to prioritize community, share nourishment, and repair the nervous systems that are so frayed by the chaotic, combative energy of recent weeks.

However, diving into Pisces does require a degree of caution. Because it is described astrologically as a “footless” sign adrift in the emotional tides, its energy can be ungrounded, making us prone to escapism, fantasy, or a lack of practical boundaries.

Especially with the ongoing Saturn-Neptune conjunction continuing to dissolve traditional structures, we must balance our cosmic dreams with practical grounding.

A New Moon is traditionally a time for internal clearing, reorganizing, and letting go, rather than launching bold new external projects.

Total Lunar Eclipse | March 03, 2026

2:45a - 8:30a US Central Time

Eclipse season is at its absolute peak tonight. Following the intense Solar Eclipse in Aquarius two weeks ago (see my previous post), we are now experiencing a deeply transformative Total Lunar Eclipse in sidereal Leo, occurring precisely in the Purva Phalguni nakshatra.

In astrological terms, Leo is the domain of the king — it rules leaders, government, power, and our own personal sovereignty. In this case, the Full Moon is being swallowed by Ketu, the South Node of the Moon.

Right now, the performative, counterfeit versions of sovereignty and power are being eclipsed and scrutinized by the masses. As Sam Geppi notes, Ketu in Leo is fundamentally about the fall of untouchable elites and the exposure of the shadow governments that run the world.

If our friends organizing the No Kings protest followed astrology, today or this week would have been a good time for the next event. As it is, these influences will still be potent on March 28.

According to Freedom Cole, a lunar eclipse involves being highly active and social in the external world. While a Rahu eclipse focuses on material gains and worldly obsession, a Ketu eclipse focuses on spiritual goals and karmic release. Because this eclipse is caused by Ketu, it specifically signifies manifesting spiritual intentions in the external world.

Saturn, Neptune, and the Age of Volatility

To understand the chaos of this eclipse, we must look at the broader sky. While traditional Vedic astrology does not usually use the outer planets like Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, examining them provides a crucial layer of context for global events.

As Chani Nicholas points out, this eclipse window is interacting with an exceptionally rare and historic conjunction between Saturn and Neptune.

Saturn is the planet of structure, reality, and rules, while Neptune is the planet of dreams, illusions, and the dissolving of reality. When these two merge, the traditional systems we rely on dissolve, leaving us in a landscape that feels exceptionally messy, ungrounded, and paradoxical.

Furthermore, this eclipse cycle is closely squared by Uranus — the planet of instability and rebellion — making this a highly electric and destabilizing moment.

The Eclipsed Kings: Trump and Netanyahu

Nowhere is this cosmic turbulence more evident than in the charts of world leaders, specifically Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu.

Freedom Cole observes that individuals born just before an eclipse are often destined to become very rich and prosperous. As it happens, Donald Trump was born just hours before a solar eclipse in Leo.

This timing imbues him with the specific energetic capacity to “eclipse” his competitors. Historically, he has used this overpowering energy to overshadow his adversaries, absorb their impact, and dominate the stage.

However, tonight’s Lunar eclipse is also occurring in Leo, eclipsing his natal Solar eclipse.

The tables have turned: the collective is now reflecting the will of the people back at the establishment, and Trump is the one being eclipsed by a massive wave of public scrutiny.

Simultaneously, Benjamin Netanyahu is facing a profound karmic reckoning. In his natal chart, Netanyahu has both Mars (war, aggression) and Saturn (control, limitation) placed in Leo, occupying his 10th house of career, status, and leadership — all of which is being eclipsed right now.

Ketu is the “great eraser” — its transit through Netanyahu’s house of power signifies a radical shift in power dynamics and a public “fall from grace”.

Driven by grandiose ambitions and the disruptive square from transiting Uranus to his natal Mars, Netanyahu is engaging in a desperate, high-risk gambit—evidenced by the US and Israel’s major military campaign against Iran.

With Mars currently combust (singed by being too close to the Sun), global military energy feels sharp, ungrounded, and highly frustrated.

Exposing the Shadow Government: The Epstein Files

When we zoom out, it becomes clear that this geopolitical escalation serves as the ultimate distraction.

This Leo-Aquarius eclipse axis is forcing a collective reckoning with systemic corruption. The massive release of the Epstein files perfectly coincides with the exposure of these untouchable elites — implicating figures across the political and corporate spectrum, including Trump.

The global elite are desperate to push the Epstein disclosures to the back seat by keeping the world occupied with war in the Middle East. However, Ketu’s energy erases false realities; the curtain has been pulled back, and the genie cannot be put back in the bottle.

Cultivating Psycho-Spiritual Resilience

The times are dire, and the shadows are being exposed, but this is the age of miracles.

Tonight’s Lunar Eclipse indicates a profound moment of collective reckoning, but to navigate it, we must first master our internal state.

Here are some simple suggestions for moving through this portal with courage and grace:

• Fast and Purify: On the day of a lunar eclipse, the subtle phases of the moon are on “fast forward,” causing cooked food to deteriorate and rot in the stomach much more rapidly than normal. It is highly advised to avoid eating cooked food during the eclipse window.

• Bathe and Clear Your Space: Enter this eclipse as you would a sacred space. Take a physical and spiritual bath just as the eclipse begins, and take another ritual bath after it ends to cleanse yourself of any heavy, shadow energy you may have released.

• Manifest Spiritual Intentions: As Freedom Cole advises, a Ketu lunar eclipse is the ultimate time to set intentions for community-based spiritual actions. Use this energy to form a ritual group, help build a spiritual community space, or establish a rigorous, consistent daily practice.

• Vision Your Way Through: As Chani Nicholas notes, with Saturn and Neptune coming together, we must take back our imagination. Do not let tyrannical leaders write the end of the story for you. Dream bigger and more radically than the reality at hand, and take one small, disciplined Saturnian step each day toward that Neptunian vision.

• Invest in Community Care: Eclipses are destabilizing, unpredictable times. The best antidote to this chaotic fire and air energy is to touch grass and lean on your community. We are facing an adversary with disciplined tactics, and we must meet that with equally disciplined local solidarity. Nourish yourself, reach out to a neighbor, and envision the world you are actively building together.

Whatever you do, do the inner work, figure out your role, and deliver your unique gifts to the world with calm, compassion, and courage.

Solar Eclipse in Aquarius | Tuesday, February 17, 2026

Eclipse season is upon us, and what a doozy!

Eclipses always come in pairs. We have a Solar Eclipse in Aquarius on Feb 17 following by a Lunar Eclipse in Leo on March 2-3.

Aquarius and Leo are paired opposite signs — precisely across from one another. This axis of the zodiac is all about the true source of power and the application of authority.

Leo, ruled by the Sun, is the King, the bourgeoisie, the 1%. Aquarius, ruled by Saturn, is the proletariat, the people, the working classes, the 99%.

The solar system is a benevolent dictatorship. The Sun is unequivocally in charge, unchallenged in its gravitational force which keeps all the planets organized in their proper orbital patterns.

Saturn is the most distant planet visible with the naked eye, representing the outer limit of the Sun’s illuminative power.

Mythologically, Saturn is the illegitimate son of Surya, the Sun.

Surya was so busy shining and commanding the cosmos that his wife grew tired of going unnoticed and she left him. She left behind her shadow self, Chaya, with whom Surya conceived Shani (Saturn).

When Surya finally noticed that Chaya was not his true wife, he flew into a fit of rage and mistreated her. Shani will never forgive him for this, and now serves as a check on the Sun’s power.

The Sun is the expansive source of all light and life, a perfectly consistent provider, always shining. Saturn, on the other hand, is the harbinger of endings, representing limitations (time, energy, money), implosive pressure and the power of time to decay and dissolve all things.

Just so, the people act as a check on the King’s power. The King rules, yes, but only with the consent of the governed. When the King becomes a petty Tyrant, the 99% eventually, inevitably rise up and overwhelm him.

Sometimes old stories are new again, aren’t they?

As it stands, the power of the people far outweighs that of the tyrant. With Venus and Mercury also in Aquarius, they are standing by as the North node of the Moon obscures the power of the Sun.

In Avatar: The Last Airbender (if you know, you know; if you don’t know, now you know; you’re welcome), a solar eclipse is the moment when the aggressive, imperial Fire Nation loses their ability to bend fire, rendering them vulnerable to retaliatory action and forcible submission.

These are revolutionary times, indeed. The self-indulgent evils perpetuated by the global ruling class are now too obvious to ignore. They clearly have no sincere intent to improve the lives of the global majority; they impose imperial violence at home and abroad in the pathetic-but-dangerous and ultimately self-defeating attempt to maintain any semblance of legitimacy.

There is dissension in the ranks. The people are realizing “there is no one coming to save us,” and therefore it is up to us to care for each other and resist tyranny on all fronts.

This eclipse initiates a six-month period where this tension will be even more amplified than it already is. May the force be with us.

That being said, there are two complicating factors we must consider.

1. A revolution needs resources. In the chart of this eclipse, our access to those necessary resources (including money, yes, but also our “values”) is shown by Saturn in Pisces. Pisces is a dreamy sign, aloof from the world, with the tendency to avoid, ignore, escape or “forgive without investigating.” Saturn gives structure wherever it goes, so we need to be careful not to allow conspiratorial fantasies to become codified. Another example of this could be preemptive pardons — an expression of unexamined forgiveness encoded into law. A lack of accountability is profoundly disheartening within a movement, as is a lack of vision. The other danger here is that Saturn limits the scope of our collective capacity to imagine a better future. Let’s resist the impulse to let the beauty of our dreams be diminished by the drudgery and grunt work required along the way.

2. Drawing power away from the people is an exalted Mars in Capricorn. The warriors are well-organized. We are facing an adversary that has disciplined tactics and a strong will to take action and break things if necessary in service of their “cause.” It will take an equal or greater level of coordination to resist effectively. The people of Minneapolis provide an excellent example in their interconnected neighborhood networks, using code names and collaborating to watch, warn and show up when the invading forces arrive. However, there is evidence that those networks are being infiltrated and sabotaged using clever technology, strategic interventions and raw force. We must not succumb, submit or escape, but instead get even more organized. The other danger here is that we allow our own divine rage to spiral out into excessive violence. All-out war is not in our favor and would result in catastrophic losses. We are winning the battle of ideas, of shared principles, of insistence on a new and better way to live together. Let’s remain disciplined and victory is ours.

Generally speaking: this specific Solar Eclipse indicates the need to do the inner work required to transform the world around us. Go inward before rushing out. Investigate your true motivations.

Become even more intimate with what you hold sacred. Feel your values viscerally. Carve your truth into your bones to prepare for the outward action to come.

We all have our role to play. Do you know yours? Get in there, figure it out. Then get out there, deliver your gifts with calm, compassion and courage!

The power of the people is hemmed in between Mars and Saturn. These two malefic influences are squeezing us in, trapping us on either side. The times are dire; these are dark days, but have courage.

This is the age of miracles.

The radicle cracks open its seed and emerges into the world as a sprout. This week is a wise time to nurture your personal seedlings.

Life is arising on its own, but it needs your tender attention. Protect what is sprouting from being trampled. Give it sips of water and gently tamp down the soil. Maybe even offer a little garden stake for it to lean against as it stretches upward.

This eruption of new life is both delicate and inevitable. The Sun is soft at dawn and its ascent is assured. Heat can only rise. The cycle swerves upward with the unchecked enthusiasm of youth.

A healthy child expresses the full spectrum of emotions without shame or embarrassment about feeling such intense joy or sorrow.

Likewise, the Waxing Crescent phase reminds us that messiness is necessary for life to evolve and grow. Let it be messy!

Today, the Sun moves into Capricorn.

The day the Sun changes signs is called sankranti — meaning transition, transmigration, going from one place to another.

Makara Sankranti (the transition from Sagittarius into Capricorn) is an especially important migration in the Vedic calendar, as it is the first time the Sun changes signs since it died and was reborn on the Winter Solstice.

One of my revered teachers calls sankranti “beach days” because it’s not a great day to do anything productive.

His example is that if you build a new fence on sankranti, you’re going to find out the next day that the property line is actually three feet that way.

If you’re going to have to undo and redo all that work, you may as well leave it for tomorrow and spend today at ease on the beach.

This solar transition coincides with the nadir of the lunar cycle as the Moon descends into darkness.

The true New Moon is January 19, but the energy of this cycle is fading now, drifting into the death-like state of deep sleep.

The Dark & New Moon phase is the Midnight time of the month. Time to be in bed, getting deep rest, recuperating, letting the events of the past month settle and reset in anticipation of approaching Dawn.

Yin agni is all about emotional digestion. This internally oriented fire is wisely applied to extract the nourishment of your recent experience and burn away that which has no nutritive value.

The potentially problematic expression of this energy is an overactive inner critic that wants to attack you for being slow and low-energy. By lasering in on every little mistake, this part of you thinks its helping. In fact, it is merely mis-applying the discernment needed for proper digestion and instead obsessing about all the tiny ways you could have done better.

Let it rest.

Thank this well-meaning but oft-vicious critic for their help, and gently request that they redirect their fiery focus in service of illuminating the dark corners of your psyche.

If you’re traveling to the bottom of the ocean to see mysterious sea creatures, it helps to have a big flashlight. When the Moon goes dark, the mind is more easily emptied, becoming akin to deep space or deep ocean. There is magic to discover there, but careful not to get lost in the depths.

I leave you with an apropos poem by Wendell Berry:

To go in the dark with a light is to know the light.
To know the dark, go dark. Go without sight,
and find that the dark, too, blooms and sings,
and is traveled by dark feet and dark wings.

HINT: The New Moon occurs in Capricorn. The Sun and Moon are joined there by Mercury, Mars and Venus, a relatively rare conglomeration of five planets in one sign. This stellium suggests that Capricorn issues will be prominent on Jan 19 as well as for the coming month. Financial institutions may need to re-examine their plans. Economic structures in general may face a complex array of choices. We may see or make some cold-hearted choices.

We are on the cusp of the Vedic New Year.

This version of New Year’s day is defined by the Sun moving into Capricorn (January 14) — the first time it changes signs after the death/rebirth process of the Winter Solstice.

If the Gregorian New Year felt a bit flat, perhaps you’ll feel more of that reset energy this week and next (especially after next week’s New Moon).

Today and tomorrow, both Venus and Mars are within 1˚ of the Sun in Sagittarius (Fire sign). When planets occupy the exact same space in the sky, Western astrology calls it cazimi. The impact is that the Sun acts like a microscope, focusing the energy of those planets into laser beam-like intensity.

A few key reflection questions:

• Is it passion or fury?

• Is it romantic or lustful?

• Is it fearlessly authentic or recklessly authoritarian?

Then, on Jan 13, Venus enters Capricorn just before the Sun. Venus is friendly with Capricorn, as that Saturn-ruled Earth sign provides the stable structure within which she feels safe. Capricorn becomes like the partner leading the dance — steady, simple, solid — allowing the other partner to spin, flip and swirl as wild as she likes.

The Waning Crescent phase is the Evening time of the month. It is time to do the metaphorical dishes, tidy up at the end of the day, activate your bedtime preparation.

Yang Ojas is a paradoxical combo. Yang is an active, masculine force associated with doing. Ojas is all about nurturing, calming, chicken-soup-for-the-soul type vibes.

So — be proactive about rest. Use your outgoing energy to turn inward.

This is the phase of the wise Elder — one who need not speak many words as they have harvested the wisdom of lived experience and concentrated it into a potent seed.

Seek out your elders. Listen to what they have to say. Let their every aphorism be planted in your heart-mind without expectation of instant harvest, but with the faith that great oaks arise from humble chestnuts.

This is the Autumnal phase. The fruits of summer have grown overripe and are falling to the ground where they will decompose and deliver their seeds into the soil pre-packed into that perfect fertilizer.

What fruits did you harvest last week?

Collect and concentrate those experiences/understandings right now. Let the excess be composted. Focus on the parts that will survive the metaphorical Winter to nourish life next Spring (the next Waxing phase, Jan 20-25).

After the exuberant celebration encouraged by the Full Moon, this Waning Gibbous phase carries the energy of the first person to wake up the next morning to survey the party mess and start cleaning before Mom and Dad get home.

This is the Adult phase where we take responsibility for what we are creating. The Moon is still strong — there is still plenty of energy available to do what must be done — but the energy is waning and we are aware that it won’t last forever.

With that awareness, we attend to that which is generative, that which nourishes the next generation. This is the Fruiting phase for plants, when all the life force available is harnessed and concentrated into a nutritive offering.

It is Autumn in the lunar cycle — the harvest season in which we feast but also prepare for imminent winter. It is time to metaphorically pickle the extra veggies, jar the jams and salt the meats before the freeze.

Knowing that a time of hibernation approaches, what loose ends must you resolve? What adult responsibilities require your attention before you can retreat peacefully and with total integrity, without leaving anyone in the cold?

This is a very business-like week. Time to stay focused on the projects you’ve already started. Follow through on pre-existing commitments. Nothing too fancy right now.

Happy New Year!

To have the Full Moon phase align with our Gregorian New Year is super appropriate — it’s time to revel, rejoice & review.

The Moon reaches its zenith on Friday, January 02 at about 19˚ of the sidereal sign of Gemini. The Sun is in Sagittarius.

If you’re doing a year in review, the Full Moon in Gemini invites you to once again feel all the feels you felt, but this time with gentle detachment. Zoom out and adopt an attitude of curiosity, free from judgment as you recall all the inner ups-and-downs of the past 12 months.

On the opposite side of the zodiac, the Sun in Sagittarius supports meaning-making, connecting the dots collected in Gemini to paint a picture illuminating what it all means.

It is the appropriate solar season to update your belief structure based on recent upheavals; a wise time to recalibrate your North star.

So here’s the invitation:

Catalog the big inner experiences of your year, like an astronomer identifying the precise declination of significant stars. Then use the bright power of your mind to connect those stars into constellations, rich with mythopoetic significance.

Happy Boxing Day! In the British commonwealth, Boxing Day is traditionally honored as a day to share gifts with those that need extra nourishment.

After the servants spend Christmas Day serving the family of the manor (or whatever, ew), Boxing Day is their turn to take the day off and receive gifts. In that spirit, it is a great day to give what you can to those less fortunate.

This is very much aligned with the vibe of this lunar phase. Yin Ojas indicates a time for maximum nourishment, building resilience, generating power and making wise use of your full bandwidth.

How much energy can comfortably flow through you? Can you turn up the voltage? If so, do so. If not, take steps to enhance your capacity to hold and transmit power.

This is the phase symbolically associated with childhood — when we are gaining mass, getting bigger, growing stronger by the day.
